Limitation of liability
Although every care has been taken by the ETH Board to ensure the accuracy of the information published, no guarantee can be given in respect of the accuracy, reliability, up-to-dateness or completeness of this information.
The ETH Board reserves the right to alter or remove the content, in full or in part, without prior notice.
In no event will the ETH Board be liable for any loss or damage of a material or immaterial nature arising from access to, use or non-use of published information, or from misuse of the connection or technical faults.
Links to third-party websites lie outside the scope of responsibility of the ETH Board, as do third-party links to websites of the ETH Board. Access and use of such websites occur entirely at the user’s own risk. The ETH Board expressly states that it has no influence whatsoever over the content of any linked site. Responsibility for information and services of linked sites rests entirely with the relevant third parties.
No liability can be accepted in respect of the content of such websites.
Based on Article 13 of the Federal Constitution and the provisions of federal data protection legislation, everyone has the right to the protection of their privacy, as well as to protection from misuse of their personal details. The ETH Board complies with these provisions. Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither passed on nor sold to third parties.
In close cooperation with our hosting providers, we make every effort to protect the databases as well as possible from outside access, data loss, misuse or falsification.
When you access our websites, the following data is stored in log files: IP address, date, time, browser request and general information on the operating system and browser.
This usage data forms the basis for statistical, impersonal evaluations for the purpose of tracking trends so that the ETH Board can improve the information on offer. Under the Federal Act on the Surveillance of Post and Telecommunications, there is a statutory duty to store data on all connections made in the past six months.
When you choose to make contact with us through the contact form and when subscribing to the Newsletter, your contact data will be stored in a separate database not connected with the anonymous log files. You may delete your registration at any time.
If you transmit any data to the ETH Board (for instance by means of a contact form made available to you), it cannot be guaranteed that such data transmission is either confidential or reliable. Moreover, the ETH Board will normally reply to such data through the electronic channel, too, for which again neither confidentiality nor the integrity of the data transmitted can be guaranteed. For this reason, no sensitive data, such as confidential data, should be transmitted through this channel.
This does not apply to internet connections which expressly indicate that data transmission is secure. In such cases, any special security measures will usually be indicated, for example by https or a key or padlock icon.
