The National Competence Center for Biomedical Imaging Techniques (NCCBI) seeks to promote research in the field of biomedical imaging techniques in Switzerland and within the ETH Domain over and beyond the institute’s own investments and activities.

33 dissertations have been funded since the programme started, especially concerning Alzheimer’s, respiratory disorders, osteoporosis and cancer. 24 dissertations have been successfully completed to date. 68 laboratories in 13 Swiss institutes and 100 other external staff are affiliated to the programme. These joint projects have produced 174 abstracts presented at national and international congresses, as well as 94 articles published in prestigious scientific journals.
